How to care for your jewellery:
All of our pieces are manufactured with a layer of Gold plating over metals such as stainless steel, sterling silver, copper and zinc alloy depending on the collection. With all gold plated pieces, extra care must be taken to ensure their longevity and to avoid tarnishing. The number one tip to ensure the longevity of your jewellery pieces is to avoid contact with:
- Oils
- Lotions
- Perfumes
- Makeup
- Fake Tan
- Chemicals
Shower safe pieces:
With each new collection, we are improving our selection of base materials and thickening the layer of 18K Gold plating. Our Sterling Silver 18K Gold Plated pieces from our Luxe & Capsule collection are completely shower safe. However we still recommend drying them off post shower to avoid any chemical/moisture residue that can eat away at the plating over time. Exposure to chlorinated or salty water must be avoided at all times as the chemicals will cause our Gold plating to tarnish/fade to the sterling silver base.
How to store your jewellery:
We know how easy it is to forget to put away your jewellery. Whether it be leaving your pieces on your bedside table or on your bathroom counter for the next day (we have all done it). However, by properly storing your pieces you will ensure their longevity and you'll be able to love and wear them for a very long time.
Our top tip is to store your pieces within your JT Luxe packaging, away from any direct sunlight and in a cool and dry place. This will ensure the pieces are kept away from any factors that may cause tarnishing, including any harsh chemicals that can be found in places like your bathroom.
